Problem Statement

Christophe Morel Chocolatier needed a logo redesign that enhances brand recognition and communicates their expertise in fine chocolate at first glance. Their original logo, while distinctive, was overly complex and lost clarity when scaled down. Additionally, the absence of visual cues made it difficult for new customers to immediately associate the brand with chocolate.

The challenge was to simplify the logo while maintaining a strong visual identity. The redesign required a more legible, elegant typeface and a refined graphic element that conveys the essence of artisan chocolate. Furthermore, the new design needed to align with Pantone color constraints while maintaining depth and richness through tints and shades.

Solution

Drawing inspiration from Christophe Morel’s philosophy—his passion for reinterpreting childhood flavors, working with noble ingredients, and staying connected to the land—the new logo embraces the origins of chocolate through a clean and modern design.

The cocoa bean, a fundamental symbol of the craft, is subtly incorporated into the visual identity, reinforcing the brand’s authenticity and artisanal approach. The typography is carefully chosen to balance elegance and readability, enhancing the overall refinement of the brand. The color palette is rooted in earthy tones, reflecting both the richness of chocolate and the landscapes where cocoa is cultivated, bringing a sense of warmth and heritage to the brand.

The result is a timeless, sophisticated identity that not only simplifies the previous design but also strengthens brand recognition, ensuring that Christophe Morel Chocolatier is immediately understood as a high-end chocolate maker.
